5 Years!

Folks today is a very special day. We are celebrating five years of God’s faithfulness as a church. And what better way to celebrate than by gathering right here, on the very land where we believe God is leading us to plant roots for the future. We are almost fully funded, and that alone is a testimony of God’s goodness.

But here’s what I want us to remember today: this land is not just about right here, right now. It’s about those who will come after us. We are leaving a legacy.

1. Remember God’s Faithfulness (Past)

Think back over the last five years. We started with just a vision, prayer, and a few steps of faith. And here we are today. Just like Israel looked back at the Red Sea, manna in the wilderness, and the Promised Land, we too look back and say: ‘The Lord has been faithful.’

In Joshua chapter 4, God told His people to set up twelve stones after crossing the Jordan River.

  • Why? So, when their children asked, ‘What do these stones mean?’ They could tell the story of God’s deliverance.

This land, this moment, can become that same kind of testimony. When someone asks years from now, ‘What happened here?’ we will say: ‘God was faithful. God provided. God built something lasting through His people.’

2. Live with Vision (Present)

But legacy is not just about looking back—it’s about living with vision today. This land isn’t just dirt. It’s not just a building project. It is soil for seeds of transformation.

This will be a place where children will grow up learning the love of Jesus, where marriages will be restored, where broken people will find healing, and where the Gospel will go forward.

If we only see land and buildings, we miss the point. We don’t build for comfort—we build for mission. Legacy is not measured by what we leave in our bank accounts; it is measured by the lives we invest in and the faith we hand off.

3. Inspire the Next Generation (Future)

Psalm 78 says: ‘We will tell the next generation… so that they will put their trust in God.’

Friends, the next generation is watching us. They will remember what we valued. They will remember what we sacrificed for. They will remember what mattered most.

If we are faithful now, they will be faithful then. If we are generous now, they will be generous then. If we walk in obedience now, they will walk in obedience then.

What we build today becomes the foundation for tomorrow’s faith. That’s the big picture. That’s why we’re here. That’s why this matters.
